Winchester Large Rifle Magnum Primers are designed for large-rifle cartridges whose published reloading data specifically calls for a magnum large-rifle primer. They provide the primer specification commonly associated with larger-capacity rifle cartridges and loads where the propellant manufacturer’s tested data specifies a magnum primer.
For a web listing, it is useful to distinguish them from standard Large Rifle primers: primer selection should always follow published, pressure-tested load data for the exact cartridge, powder and projectile combination. A magnum primer should not automatically be substituted for a standard primer because changing primer type can alter ignition and chamber pressure.
